Vacations are expensive things. However, vacations can become less expensive when you know on which things to be thrifty. Especially in the amusing Rome, when there are just much places to
go to cutting costs can just be tough. Hence, these here, are tips on what to do to cut expenses while enjoying your dream vacation in Rome.
Budget hotels can be found in the outskirts of Rome. This means that while you will not be at the center of Rome, you’d still be fairly near and will have easy access to the city. Fortunately, this also means you can save money. The budget hotels are nice and clean but make sure to check it out just to make sure. I recommend the Flavor of Italy Country Inn, a 20 minute ride from the Piazza del Popolo. With cheap digs, and so many cheap flights to Rome – this trip doesn’t have to be as pricey as you thought.
Explore good but inexpensive restaurants
When eating in Rome, make sure to not eat in the touristy restaurants. Explore a little and try the place where you see the most locals. Chances are, it’s one of the best. After all, if its good enough for the locals, it should be good enough for you too. Also, try going to a grocery store and buying
your bottled water and other picnic items there. It will save you a lot of Euros.
Know when and where to spend (wisely)
While sight-seeing in Rome seems like a very appealing thing, make sure to not overspend. I understand that there are a whole lot of places to see but just pick one or two that you really like where you have to spend admissions for. As for the rest, just stroll around Rome and choose places where you don’t need to pay anything to get into.
Get transportation discounts
When using public transport, make sure to consider buying combination tickets or discount passes so you can save even more.
